Notifications stopped 'flashing'

Somewhere along the line, my DGT reminder notifications/alarms stopped appearing on screen. They still show in the pull doesn't notification bar, but don't flash at the top of the screen like they used to.

I either accidentally changed a setting or something changed that I can't figure out. Any help to troubleshoot this?
